Getting Started

Welcome to Kinetix. In this guide, we'll take you from a blank canvas to a verified robot model in minutes.

1Initialize Your Workspace

Kinetix runs entirely in your browser. To start your journey, you'll need an active project.

Login & Profile

While you can use the builder as a guest, logging in allows you to save drafts and participate in the community forum.

2The 3D Canvas

Navigate to the Builder. You are presented with a 3D viewport and a hierarchy tree.

Navigation

  • Left Click: Rotate Camera
  • Right Click: Pan View
  • Scroll: Zoom In/Out

Axes Guide

  • Red: X-Axis (Forward)
  • Green: Y-Axis (Lateral)
  • Blue: Z-Axis (Up)

3Defining Links and Joints

Robots in Kinetix are made of Links (the physical parts) and Joints (the connections between them).

"Every link must have a parent link, except for the base_link."

Add a link

Select an existing link and click the '+' icon in the Hierarchy panel.

Configure Transformation

Use the Properties panel to adjust the origin offset and rotation to match your CAD design.

4Validation & Export

Once your kinematic chain is complete, verify that all joints move correctly within their limits.

Export as URDF (Coming Soon)
